Breakfast Rice Pudding + Linky Party

Two of my friends have had some drama going on lately which has brought me from one restaurant to another. I didn’t mind really, I haven’t ate out in a very long time. Listening to friends is never a problem either but it surely didn’t do my body any good. I’ve been getting really uhm, stuffed.

(Love Fish and Chips)

Mexican Salad with Quesadilla.

I also went out with hubby twice this week! A very rare occasion!

On Facebook, I wrote: I don’t weigh myself, ever. The last time I saw my weight number was last month and only because I was at the ER. I weigh myself on how good I feel. Do you do the same? Eat healthy, be healthy

I couldn’t believe the response from everyone, that they don’t either! I love it!

All I know is eating all that food made me feel horrible. I still have no clue if I gained a pound from my weekend binge but I do know that I don’t like the affects of the heaviness or how I felt afterwards. It doesn’t make me feel good on the inside. There’s not a number that says, “150 = bloated 135 = thin” etc. It’s a confidence level inside that is shifted and needs to be realigned and in balance once again.

So, I started my morning with a healthier meal. It’s not a simple yogurt and fruit but it was still just as good. I needed something filling and this was perfect. Who would have thought my husband and two kids both loved rice pudding as well? Hubby said, “I think you might have turned me onto something.” I can never go wrong with those words!

Talk about one delicious breakfast! Not only is it vegan but gluten-free as well, just some added perks.

The Healthy Habit Challenge for today is to be more aware of what you eat.

That’s the first step to unraveling any situation is to notice it more. Not to judge (the hardest part) but to stand back and be more aware. Yes, I’m binging, why am I binging. Am I craving certain foods? Perhaps I’m lacking nutrition in certain areas. (Example, craving sweets, perhaps dehydrated) etc.

You can either do it mentally or you can also put it on paper. I prefer to write everything down. I like to see a list of things and the order as to why it may be occurring or to narrow the problem down.

Moving on… (no pun intended)…

I did go running again. As you may recall, I’m in a competition! I made progress tonight and in a significant way. I let myself go…just a little.

For whatever reason, I get these crazy thoughts that I can’t run. I don’t understand why that is, but I hold back. As in, I don’t give it my all.

In my head, I hear….you can’t run, you’re going to fall over, your heart is going too fast, you’re not doing it right…blah blah blah. Just a bunch of negativity! I’m aware that I can run but I don’t push myself. Believe me, I will and am getting to that point.

But at last, I made an improvement. My norm is to do the run-walk-run method for thirty seconds fast walk at 3.9 speed, then a jog at 4.1 for a minute.

Tonight, I ran at a speed of 4.4 and my fast walk was 4.1. That’s right, I upped it! My goal has always been to successfully cross the finish line, not speed, but goals can always change.

That time/speed etc. was also with a three minute warm up. It’s the small things in life that make me happy! 🙂

I didn’t want to go for the most “miles” tonight because I only had thirty minutes, literally.

Any small steps towards the big goal are steps moving forward.

Now all the fun stuff!!!
