#CTWW: Eco-friendly Tips for Fall House Cleaning

I’m sure you have noticed something knocking at your window or at least I have here in Maryland…Fall is finally here! Just like Springtime, Fall is also a great season to clean the house, open some windows and let loose!

Did you try last weeks #CTWW challenge? I sure did! I opened my windows and turned off the ac and the heat! Yes, I will admit, when I woke up at 66 degrees last week, I turned on the heat…for the kids. It didn’t last long…

We have been enjoying the beautiful weather and we’re outside every day.

Head into your kitchen and give your refrigerator some love! That’s right, just by performing a few preventative actions to make sure your fridge is running effectively and efficiently could help save the Earth. Could you imagine the return if everyone did this?

  • Vacuum the refrigerator coils to keep the compressor running efficiently (thus, saving energy!)
  • Make sure the doors close tightly (a lot of times you can hear the suction from the doors). If they don’t close, then your fridge is working extra hard trying to maintain the temperature.
  • Make sure that it is not over-full. Allowing room for cool air to circulate will keep everything at the right temperature
